A Tragedy That Sparked a Movement

In the heat of a Las Vegas summer in 2024, a bulldog named Reba was found dead inside a sealed container—an unspeakable act of cruelty that shook our community to its core. Her death was not only tragic; it was preventable. Out of this heartbreak rose a spark: the fight for Reba’s Law (AB381). Named in her honor, the bill aimed to finally enforce meaningful consequences for those who abuse or abandon animals.

But despite overwhelming public support, Reba’s Law never made it past the Judiciary Committee. It was a devastating blow—not just to us as advocates, but to every animal in Nevada.
